Exploiting Figma's changes to design with impact
It has become a leitmotif, almost a cliché, of our digital ecosystem: the only thing that remains the same is change. But what happens if you embrace all the mutations in processes, tools or approaches and start to be part of them? The speed accelerates, but it also relativizes, and great things start to happen.
At Soluble, we have come to the conclusion that, to understand changes, we have to mimic them. We achieve agility from consistency to promote the autonomy of the teams and our more-than-partners, expressed with the maximum splendor in our Product design squad.
This adaptive capacity improves our day-to-day work and gives us superpowers to create interesting solutions such as MyIESE or Cuerva’s brand center. It also facilitates the connection between Design, Tech and Activation. The goal is straightforward: that the common language is increasingly consolidated. Holistic vision as a springboard.
Today, we discuss Figma's latest developments and how we use them to design and present our deliverables with impact.
Change as an opportunity
Regardless of the tool we are talking about, it is essential to understand that our pursuit of digital excellence drives us to develop a series of principles closely related to experimentation and incorporating novelties into our toolbox.
- Empowering speed. If we can do something today, why put it off until tomorrow? This mantra helps us to apply all the new features as soon as possible and not accumulate new features for tomorrow. This allows us to better understand the impact of each new feature by reducing the variables in the equation.
- Accept and take advantage. Do not fear the new, but embrace it and analyze how it can benefit us. We are constantly testing with the functionalities launched by our tools or with technologies in full consolidation, such as Artificial Intelligence.
- Growing through learning. All—or almost all—of our knowledge is still to come. If we accept that we are in continuous training, that we never stop learning, we will be able to find ideas and knowledge in every corner. Practicing, doing many (many) tests and embracing error are the actions that put the finishing touch to this sustainable ambition.
Currently in progress
We can use a button and its variables as an example. We have taken them a step further and are testing to apply them to some components. They can have different sizes (large, medium, small) and, at the same time, different styles (primary, secondary). So, what happens if we mix all those properties in a single component? The answer is pure magic.
We are also in the process of expanding the boundaries of digital products. The whole team has been working with presentations made in Figma for weeks, thus applying the themes. Need a darker slide? Here it is. A white cover? It's just a click away.
Thanks to these presentations, we facilitate collaborative work, ensure brand consistency and empower non-designers to generate greater visual impact when presenting brand strategies, verbal identities or action plans.
The latest novelty we have incorporated—this phrase will expire soon—is applying Design Systems to generate Social Media pieces and other types of creative artworks, such as advertisements. With just a template and by configuring the styles, anyone can change the target audience, format or composition in one or two clicks.
Always on the lookout
Our Product team, as well as the rest of the people who make up Soluble, is constantly on the radar. We need to make good companies look as good as they really are to fulfill our purpose: making people happier at work.
